IDET

The full name for IDET is Intradiscal Electrothermal Annuloplasty, which is a procedure that is recommended to patients suffering from back pain for at least three months. IDET is an outpatient treatment procedure. Our experts will take the assistance of a professional X-ray machine that will guide them to the damaged disc.
 

A probe is inserted that will heat the inside of the disc. This causes any tissues to shrink and the disc to fall back in place. Moreover, the fragile nerves that carry the pain signals to the brain can be blocked through this procedure without the need of any open fusion type surgery.
 

For your comfort, we will use local anesthesia as a numbing medication as well as a sedative to keep you relaxed. Our clinicians will monitor you for a couple of hours after the procedure before you can finally go back home.
